With a population of 200,000 inhabitants, Tilburg is the Netherlands' sixth largest city. Tilburg is a hard-working, industrious, and scholarly city with an array of educational institutions that few other towns can match. Tilburg is rightly proud of its reputation as a centre of learning. A student population of over 25,000 makes Tilburg one of the Netherlands' principal educational centres.
However, there is more to Tilburg than work and study. The city has a great deal to offer tourists too. As well as a rich cultural life, with, just to name a few, the Pont Museum of Modern Art, a large concert hall, several pop music venues and theatre groups. Tilburg provides plenty of opportunity to take part in entertainment and leisure activities. And it is situated in the beautiful Brabant countryside, which is one of the most attractive areas in the Benelux region. |
